Print Ready Tip: Tips On How to Save Design Files

When sending design images to us, it is important to make them print-ready and saved in a format that we can open. Here are some easy-to-follow steps for different programs you may be using and how to properly save your images so they can be given to us with ease.

PAGEMAKER:
Saving your PageMaker file as an EPS

  • Embed all Images
  • Convert all your text/copy to outline fonts
  • Export your file as an EPS using the below settings:
    • Postscript Level 2
    • CMYK Mode
    • TIFF format and Binary

PUBLISHER:
You will need to have the full version of Adobe Acrobat PDF. If you don’t, please download and use our Adobe Job Ready Program. If you do have the full version of Adobe Acrobat PDF, please follow the steps below.

  • Under File, Print, select Adobe PDF writer
  • Under Properties select Press Quality and Save your PDF

QUARK

  • Export file as a high resolution PDF with bleed and crop marks

INDESIGN

  • Export file as a high resolution PDF with bleed and crop marks

ILLUSTRATOR

  • Save file as a high resolution PDF or ESP file with bleed and crop marks

PHOTOSHOP

  • Save file as a high resolution PDF, PSD, TIFF or JPG file
  • Resolution should be 300 PPI
